Title: Resident Engineer

Position Description

Enterris Associates is seeking a Resident Enginee will provide additional professional support on city street and park improvement projects across multiple Los Angeles-area jurisdictions.

Essential Job Duties

• Serves as the Owner's on-site representative for construction contract administration on city street and park improvement projects, and leads the field construction management team.
• Oversees construction of roadway, pavement, and bike path work; utilities; sidewalks, bus shelters, and bus stop amenities; curb ramps, curb and gutter, and ADA improvements; and traffic and pedestrian signals.
• Oversees park and public recreational space improvements such as shade structures, hydration stations, misters, bike racks and lockers, micromobility amenities, ADA parking, utilities and lighting, and minor flatwork and civil works.
• Reviews and responds to requests for information (RFIs) and contractor submittals, and coordinates responses with the design team and the Owner.
• Evaluates, negotiates, and processes change orders, time extension requests, and claims in accordance with contract requirements.
• Reviews contractor progress payment applications, quantities, and supporting documentation.
• Reviews contractor baseline and updated schedules, monitors progress, and identifies delays and recovery actions.
• Ensures work complies with contract documents, applicable jurisdictional standards and permits, and ADA requirements.
• Directs and supports the Office Engineer, Assistant Resident Engineer, inspectors, and document control staff.
• Coordinates with jurisdictional agencies, utility owners, contractors, and stakeholders, and leads progress and coordination meetings.
• Monitors quality, safety, and labor compliance on the project, and follows up on nonconforming work.
• Manages project closeout, including punch lists, as-built documentation, and final acceptance.
• Prepares progress reports and keeps the Owner informed of project status, risks, and issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Professional Experience Level/Other Quali cations

• 15 or more years of experience as a Resident Engineer or in construction management on public works, street, or transit projects.
• Experience with the standards and requirements of one or more of the following, and familiarity with the others: City of Los Angeles (Green, Blue, Brown, and Red Book standards for public works), the Cities of Downey, Bell, Bell Gardens, Huntington Park, Norwalk, Long Beach, El Monte, and Carson, Caltrans, the County of Los Angeles, and CT Greenbook Standards
• Able to work in person.
• Ability to commute to the project office/IPMO.

Education/Training/Certificates

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in California, required

Hardware/Software Knowledge

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Compensation

• This role is salaried/exempt with a base annual salary range of $200,000 - $250,000 and commensurate with skill, education, experience, and work location.
• This role is bonus eligible after 6 months of employment.
